#TendingTogether Bear Creek Park Community Meetup & Cleanup
Hosted by Free the Adoptee & Former Youth in Care Community of Practice, in partnership with Ocean Wise
We believe that caring for the land and caring for community are not separate acts; they are done together.
On Saturday, July 18, 2026, Free the Adoptee and the Former Youth in Care Community of Practice are co-hosting a free, hybrid community gathering at Bear Creek Park in Surrey, BC. Alongside our partners at Ocean Wise, we are inviting adoptees, former youth in care, advocates, families, allies, and anyone who cares about our environment to spend time together outside — connecting, cleaning up, and celebrating the relationships that make advocacy possible.
This event is free, family-friendly, and open to all. Food is provided. Whether you join us in person at Bear Creek Park or participate remotely from your own neighbourhood, park, or street, there is a place for you. Share your efforts online using #TendingTogether, #ShorelineCleanup, #ShorelineTeam and tag us @freetheadoptee, @formeryouthincare, @oceanwise so we can celebrate community care together.
