Program Assistant

Khalil is an adoptee and a youth-from-care, from T’koronto (also known as Toronto). His experiences within the family policing system are what formed his passion for supporting children, youth, families, and communities most impacted by it.

With a background rooted in connecting with people—from ensuring positive experiences as a server and host to providing thoughtful service in retail—Khalil brings a strong sense of empathy and practicality to his role as a Program Assistant. His journey through various community-facing roles, including volunteer work with the YMCA, has fostered a deep respect for individual stories and a commitment to meaningful support. He believes that the most effective community work is based on genuine listening and collaborative problem-solving, principles he applies to every project and interaction.
